After complications of misplacement, mass production, and mishaps the Herrick Library Zine production has prevailed! It was officially placed at 6:51 p.m. today in the library itself. For all those who were waiting it will be available for discovery starting tomorrow at 8 a.m. when Herrick Library opens in the morning.
The plan changed very little from our original proposal and idealistic implementation for the zine. What little we gained from out critiques was an increase in the number of map zines left in the open areas of the library. The quantity increased from the proposed 15 to 23 map zines spread around the common areas of Herrick. Past this difference the remainder of our experiment remains intact.
How long will it take for our Zine to receive attention? I don’t think any of us know. We kept a mini zine to copy for production if we need more in the future but hopefully it won’t be necessary. If it is never found? I guess that will tell us the most about the space. Herrick Library may just be the perfect space to lose something, whether that be an object, past traditions, or the highly valuable time of the struggling college student. Perhaps the outcome of this Zine will tell us more about Herrick than any performance ever could have.
